About us....
The Coimbatore Kalari Panicker Welfare Sangham was originally formed in 1980 as KALARI PANICKER SANGAM TAMIL NADU and registered (Reg. No. 107 dt. 23.08.1985) by the great leaders of our community late Sri. N K Raghava Panicker, Sri. Pandit K G Panicker, Sri. K.R. Parameswara Panicker and Sri. K.A. Sethumadhavan Panicker along with other wellwishers. The main aim was for the Unity of our community people those who were living in Tamilnadu.
In 1999, the Sangham was re-registered as "Kalari Panicker Welfare Sangham" Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore, with an ideology of "stand united under a banner" for the welfare of the Kalri Kurup Kalari Panicker community members who are living in and around Coimbatore, Pollachi, Udumalpet, Tirupur, Mettupalayam, Erode, Trichy & Nilgiris etc.
KPWS remember the eminent scholars and respectable personalities and founder leaders who have laid a path for our younger generation to follow a disciplined path. We take this opportunity to offer our invaluable pranam to the late Kalarikula Sampath Sri. K R Sundara Panicker and Kalari Kula Sampath Sri. K S Chandran Panicker (a) Kovai Chandran for their immeasurable contributions during their tenure for their welfare of our community members.
Highlights of Activities:
"The Gift of Blood is the Gift of Life". There is no substitute for human blood. We have "Kalari Blood Bank" a dedicated team of energetic youth for Donating bloods for needy @24x7.
"Education is the best way to empower children". To motivate children, we are offering medals; Cash awards and merit certificates to the deserving students.
For needy persons, we are also giving financial support for treatment, Marriage, Education Etc. on case to case basis.
We have honoured our former committee members and the office bearers with due respect for their great contribution for the welfare of our community.
Title of Honour Kalari Kula Thilakam, Kalari Kula Sambath, Kalari Kula Bhushan, and Kalari Ratna were conferred to the eminent personalities of our community.
A prestigious "Jyothisha Shree" title is being conferred every year to the Astrologers of our community living in and around Coimbatore.
KPWS has taken initiative to form a Charitable Trust for our community namely "Kalari Charitable Trust", associating the members of our community living all over India and abroad. Various projects of the Trust for development of our community are in progress.
We are helping our community members to find out suitable alliance through our "Kalari Marriage Bereau"
